Good quality but needs a 35" waist option.

First of all, the quality of these is quite nice. They feel like they're gonna last me more than a few summers unlike most modern clothing.. The only thing I'm a little concerned about is the pocket linings; It doesn't feel cheap but I'm just not sure if it's a little too thin. I suppose time will tell on that one..

Now, the fitting of them.. Are they true to size? I actually have no idea because I've never understood how clothing companies measure these things - nothing I've ever measured amounts to the supposed waist size. If I order a 36" waist, shouldn't the waist measurement be 36"? Well apparently not.. I zipped these up, straightened them out & measured across the waist which comes to 19", so 2 x 19 = 38", yet these are a 36" waist? This is also after rinsing & tumble drying them about 10 times to shrink them so they were actually slightly bigger before I measured them. I don't get it but I always find this with any brand of clothing so there's obviously something I'm missing..

Lastly, these are pretty big shorts. I sometimes get a 34" waist depending on the brand but I'm sure these would've been a little too small in 34 and there's no 35" option so what could I do.. The thing is, they feel like they're cut for someone a bit bigger than me, hence why I tried to shrink them in the dryer.. They do look better now I've done that but I would've preferred them to be a little shorter & a little less baggy but not by a lot. Because of the weight of these things due to the shear amount of material & the fact I need a belt done up quite tightly to hold them on, it kinda makes them a little annoying to wear because I feel like I'm having to adjust them too often.

So basically, if you're not inbetween sizes like me, you'll probably love these, otherwise you might find the same issues I have.
